Taglit – Birthright

This educational program is TAGLIT BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL accredited and specially designed to accommodate the Taglit Birthright program.

Taking into account that all groups will visit Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, a special program has been prepared for Birthright groups. We aim to shed light on a different angle of the story of the Holocaust.  The focus of the visit will be on Resistance and living with the memory of the Holocaust. The participation of the founders of the kibbutz and the museum in the Jewish resistance in Poland will be told and how their actions after the war led to the decision for life, commemoration and strengthening awareness of Human Rights in the State of Israel.

This two hour program includes:

The Hall of Remembrance – choosing items from the fields of remembrance - the hall reveals the museum archives using a sophisticated digital technology that allows the visitor to shed light on chosen artifacts and learn more about their history.

Treblinka Hall – presents the crossroads and choices of people during the Holocaust, the unique model of the Treblinka death camp that was built by a Jewish carpenter who initiated an uprising on the camp and survived to tell the story.

Second generation testimony - this face to face meeting between the youth and a second generation Holocaust survivor introduces the story of second generation Israelis and their commitment to pass on the torch and legacy to future generations

The Observation Deck - a view to the future: a panoramic observation point that offers a sweeping view of the Western Galilee: the Mediterranean Sea, the hills, the towns and villages, kibbutzim and moshavim. The visitors witness the scope of the Zionist endeavor and the realization of its vision.
